Alter Ego #148 (with the greatest lineup of Golden & Silver Age talent ever assembled)

and Roger Hill’s new biography of comics legend Reed Crandall

SPOTLIGHT ON JOHN MORROW
Friday, July 21 – 11:00 AM in Room 4

Comic-Con Special Guest (and TwoMorrows Publisher) John Morrow presents a sequential image, stereophonic, multimedia extravaganza: JACK KIRBY: YESTERDAY, TODAY, & TWOMORROWS! Join John on a comics history roadtrip that explores how Kirby’s career was inexplicably intertwined with his own life, long before he published Jack Kirby Collector #1 in 1994, and continues to permeate TwoMorrows Publishing today! The panel features rare Kirby artwork, video and audio of Jack himself, unseen photos, and the scoop on John’s new book KIRBY100, an all-star celebration of Jack’s 100th birthday! The video presentation will be followed by a Q&A session, with details of other new TwoMorrows titles including their Reed Crandall biography, Mark “Monster Mash” Voger’s new book GROOVY!, TwoMorrows’ new magazine launching in 2018, and plans for their 25th Anniversary Celebration in 2019!

And don’t miss these other Kirby-related panels:

SPOTLIGHT ON MIKE ROYER
Thursday, July 20 – 11:30 AM in Room 4

JACK KIRBY: FRIENDS AND FAMILY
Friday, July 21 – 1:30 PM in Room 8

THE ANNUAL JACK KIRBY TRIBUTE PANEL
Sunday, July 23 – 10:00 AM in Room 5AB

ALSO: Roger Hill, author of our new biography of EC Comics legend Reed Crandall, will be appearing on the EC Fan-Addict Club Panel on Saturday, July 22, 8:00pm, in Room 4.

See you next week at booth #1301!

Roger Hill’s exhaustive bio of the famed artist of Doll Man, Blackhawk, and the Ray is the perfect compliment to IDW’s new Artist Edition of Crandall’s amazing EC Comics work! From the 1940s to the ’70s, Reed Crandall brought a unique and masterful style to everything he touched, including Doll Man, The Ray, and Blackhawk (his signature character); horror and sci-fi for EC Comics; Warren’s Creepy, Eerie, and Blazing Combat; the THUNDER Agents and Edgar Rice Burroughs characters; and even Flash Gordon for King Features. This full-color hardcover includes never-before-seen photos, a wealth of rare and unpublished artwork, and over eighty thousand words of insight into one of the true illustrators of the comics. Don’t miss it!
