Bud Plant is one of the top comic art aficionados around, in addition to being one heck of a nice guy. His mail order company has lasted so many decades by only carrying the best of the best in comics and fantasy art publications. So we’re extremely pleased that he just gave COMIC BOOK CREATOR #11 his “Highest Recommendation.” Read Bud’s rave review of editor Jon B. Cooke’s opus on Gil Kane HERE.
Who’s the man in the iron mask?
My daughter and I have been having a great time watching The Flash on TV since it debuted last season. And while I’m as confused as anyone by the last episode before the show’s current hiatus, the identity of the Man in the Iron Mask seems pretty clear to me.
Think about it; why would Zoom (this season’s bad guy), who captures speedsters to steal their speed, be holding a guy in a cell with an iron mask on his head, whereas his other prisoners didn’t have or need such a mask?
Let’s see… is there a really fast character from Earth-2, who Zoom for some reason wouldn’t want to be able to speak? And one who, for some reason (say, being a WWII newsreel photographer?), would know the tapping code that POWs used to communicate with each other?
Seems pretty clear to me that, all you have to do to discover the guy’s identity, is solve this simple mathematical formula: “3X2(9YZ)4A”.
(Either that, or he’s Captain Marvel (with the speed of Mercury), and Zoom doesn’t want him to say SHAZAM! Or he’s the Wally West of Earth-2. Or the Jay Garrick of Earth-3, or…)
Another one bites the dust…
We awoke this AM to discover that yet another of our 75% OFF Clearance books had just SOLD OUT! This time it’s All-Star Companion, Volume 2. As of this moment, there’s still a few copies left at Amazon.com, and Diamond has a couple left in their warehouses, but that’s it: we have no more copies left to sell from here at any price.
Likewise with the two other books that sold out just hours after we started this sale (Jack Kirby Checklist: Gold Edition, and The Comic Book Podcast Companion). Sorry gang, no copies left in print form, but both of those are available as Digital Editions.
Based on current sales trends, I’d say the next to go will our Nick Cardy, Peter Bagge, Legion Outpost, and Collected Kirby Collector books, possibly before the weekend is over. But all the remaining Clearance items are in low stock, so if you’ve ever wanted a copy of anything in our Clearance Sale, better get it now (and at the lowest price we’ve ever offered), or risk it being gone for good.
Wow, that was fast!
In just a few hours, two or our 75% OFF Clearance books are now SOLD OUT in print form:
• The Comic Book Podcast Companion – SOLD OUT!
